It’s officially a week away from Christmas! So I thought to show you some Typical Italian Christmas Sweets (South of Italy mostly): Nacatole, Pignolata and Turdilli. They are usually prepared one week before Christmas as a good omen and that are never lacking during Christmas lunch.

NACATOLE
250 gr flour
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
1 and a half espresso cups of sugar (120 gr)
30 gr butter
3-4 gr baking powder
Aniseed liqueur
Zest of half an orange
Zest of half a lemon

TO DECORATE
Powdered sugar

PIGNOLATA
220 gr flour
75 grams of sugar
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
50 g butter
1 teaspoon of baking powder

TO DECORATE
about 250 ml honey
Sugar Sprinkles
TURDILLI
150 ml vegetable oil
150 ml white wine
430 gr flour about
Zest of an orange
Cinnamon

TO DECORATE
250 ml honey
Half-orange juice
Sugar codettes

FOR FRYING
1,5 vegetable oil
