Sesame Cookies Landscape | Biscotti Regina – Eggless Italian Sesame Cookies Recipe | Til Chikki
In Mumbai Til Chikki are very popular and in Middle East Sesame (til) Cookies. While authentic ones are made with eggs. I am showing you EGGLESS SESAME COOKIES.
Ingredients :
50 gm white sesame seeds (mildly roasted) + more sesame seeds (to coat cookies)
50 gm butter (at room temperature)
30 ml oil (odourless)
50 gm powder sugar (churned and seived)
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
100 gm plain flour (maida / alternatively wheat flour can be used)
1.5 tsp baking powder
Water (to dip cookies)
Method :
Coarsely grind 50 gm white sesame seeds (mildly roasted)
In a mixing bowl take 50 gm butter (at room temperature)
Add 30 ml oil (odourless) and whisk well
Add 50 gm powder sugar (churned and seived)
Again whisk it well
Add 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Add a pinch of salt and mix it
Now add churned sesame seeds mixture
Add 100 gm plain flour (maida / alternatively wheat flour can be used)
Add 1.5 tsp baking powder
Combine everything together to make a dough
Further make small even shape cookies
Gently dip them into water and then coat into sesame seeds
Place them in baking tray along with a parchment paper in it
Pre heat oven for 15 min at 170⁰ and bake for 20-25 min
To bake it on stove, keep the steamer along with a stand
Pre heat steamer for 20-25 min
Keep tray in it, cover lid with a cloth and bake it on slow flame for 35 min
Let all cookies cool down
Serve these Delicious Sesame Cookies with Hot Coffee or Tea!
