Kontiki in Rhodes town with harbor sunset! Kontiki NEXT 360 is the official name of this floating restaurant in the Mandraki harbor in Rhodes, the fourth largest island of Greece by land surface. The Fotis Group, whom operates this amazing place to catch a sunset, a drink and a fine cuisine, describes the establishment as, “A two deck Classy Floating Fine Dining Restaurant Cocktail Bar,” and I’d say that is very accurate. It’s Italian cuisine with a Greek twist and which specialises also in seafood. What a combo! It is also a bar cafe.
It’s more than getting a bite to eat, it is an experience. Since it is off the main strip, just a bit, it attracts less of the tourists and offers a very relaxed way to enjoy, literally, 360 views of this Greek harbor. The food was excellent and the chef cooked my up a special catch of the day. He recommended it, when I stated I was interested in fish. It was the fagri fish, as called in Greek (English Name: Red porgy, common seabream! ) and was simply a delight to not only eat, but absorb the atmosphere all around us. Turns out this is a highly prized fish and it is not caught daily! Thank you Kostas! What a service!

The sunset was beautiful as well. Setting behind the church and the boats in the harbor, coupled with the sounds of the street and other eateries, made of an unforgettable night. It was only our second night on Rhodes and our first time away from the resort where we stayed. That is also amazing and called the Akti Imperial. It was about a 10 minute taxi ride from there and only costs about 12 Euro.

Yes, maybe it is only a 350 degree of panoramic view of the Rhodes harbor, but whose counting! Kontiki NEXT 360 is certainly recommended by us; 5 out of 5 stars!
