Vegetarian Calzone:
Recipe for 4 people:
Preparation time: 30 mins.
Resting dough time: 40mins to 1 hour
Cooking time: 15 to 20 mins.
Total time: 1:30 to 2 hours
Prep:
4 cups of plain flour(For Pizza dough)
2 Tbsp of sugar
2 Tsp of salt
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 1/2 tbsp of dry active yeast
1 1/2 cups of warm water.
To make dough:
1. In a bowl add warm water.
2. Dissolve sugar in water.
3. Put dry active yeast in water and mix properly leave aside for 5 to 10 mins to activate.
4. Put in oil and salt in water again mix properly.
5. Put flour in water 3 1/2 cups only. Start mixing it nicely. Check flour as per the need. It depends on the weather if its too humid or hot you might need more flour and for winter little less.
6. The dough will be sticky.
7. Remove that dough on bench and knead until its a smooth and soft dough.
8. Rest it for 40 mins to 1 hour until it rise nicely.
9. Till you are waiting cut veggies like capsicum, onion. tomato, jalapenos for spicy flavor (if you want), some pineapple chunks for sweetness.
10. Cut some fresh mozzarella, and need some pizza cheese or parmesan.
Preparation:
1. Cut dough in two equal parts.
2. Roll the dough nicely.
3. Put the half the veggies and cheese in the middle.
4. Fold the dough over tightly and crimp the edges..
5. Cut for air vents.
6. Brush the egg wash on top.
7. Pre heat oven at 240C. Put the Calzone in the oven and cook for 15 to 20 mins.
Remove from oven when its golden brown cut and serve hot.
