Episode 3 : My Authentic Homemade Tomato Sauce.
This tomato sauce recipe is very special to me. It has been passed down from generation to generation. It all started with my Nonna Immacolata & then passed down to my beautiful Mother Cecilia, who then taught me. It is such a blessing & honor to be the next generation to make this delicious sauce. The fun thing is that we all put our own little charm to this sauce, individually making it better with time. I am so happy to be able to share it with the world & I am sure you will love it! The recipe that I have featured in this video is made with ground beef (minced meat). However, this recipe can also be made without the meat. So knock yourself out and try both. They are both equally yummy.
Ingredients needed for this Recipe:
2tbsp of olive oil
1 lb (450gr) ground beef
3 bottles of purred tomato sauce (I mix brand & for bigger quantity I use 5 bottles)
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped onions
2 bay leaves
3 basil leaves
3 tsp sugar
1 cup of water or more (I swirl water in the used left over tomato jar)
Salt to your taste (i would start with about 1 tsp & then add more if needed)
1 tbsp tomato paste (I don’t always use this ingredient, but I do if i feel I would like my sauce to be thicker)
