How to Make the Best Focaccia Bread at Home | Traditional Italian Homemade Bread

Ingredients:
7 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet or 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil + 2 tbsp for coating your bread pan and topping before baking
2 cups warm water

Instructions:
Step1:
Add flour yeast and salt in mixing bowl or a stand mixer.
Note: If you are using active dry yeast make sure to proof it first (combine yeast, one teaspoon sugar or honey, warm water, let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy)
Step2:
Mix all the dry ingredients very well with the mixer or with a spoon if you are doing this by hand.
Step 3:
Add oil and water and
Step 4:
Start mixing all the ingredients until everything is mixed very well
Step5:
Keep mixing for at least 6 minutes until a very smooth dough is formed
Step 6:
Put a few drops of olive oil into another large bowl and spread it all over the bowl to ensure the dough doesn’t stick to it
Step 7
Transfer the dough into the greased bowl, cover with a plastic wrap with a plastic wrap or a clean/new shower cup which is also greased with oil and then cover with a kitchen towel
Step 8:
Leave in a warm place for a bout an hour
Step 9:
After an hour. Stretch the dough and fold. Repeat this for a few times and turn the bowl between each stretch and cover for another 45 minutes.
Step 10:
Transfer the dough a 13 x 18 pan coated with olive oil. Stretch the dough to the edges.
Step 11:
With your fingertips, poke into dough and create dimples all over. You can do this easily by oiling your hand and fingertips.
Step 12:
Add rosemary or whatever toppings you like. Bake at 425˚F for 25-28 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack or simply placing it on a cutting board and rest about 10-15 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
