Do you know why Italians call this pie a “magic cake”? Just because impossible to imagine such an excellent result based on such ingredients.
At your desire you can add vanilla or cocoa to dough. This pie is easy to cook. There are some secrets: eggs are to be of room temperature and milk a bit warmed. Magic creamy cake is a dessert that will amuse you with its delicate taste!

Ingredients:
For dough:
• wheat flour – 450 g
• eggs small – 6
• milk – 175 ml
• sugar – 180 g
• lemon zest – 1
• vegetable oil – 150 ml
• baking powder – 11 g
For cream:
• corn starch – 70 g
• milk – 600 ml
• eggs – 1
• sugar – 120 g
You will need:
• baking tray 25*35 cm
• parchment paper
• deep bowl
• stockpot
• hand mixer
• oven
• piping bag

Preparation:
1. Mix 6 eggs and 180 g of sugar in a deep bowl until incorporated.
2. Add gradually the flour, a spoon at a time, and keep mixing, then gradually pour 175 ml of milk and 150 ml of vegetable oil in the dough, add the lemon zest and baking powder, mix the stuff well.
3. Add 120 g of sugar, an egg and corn starch into a not big stockpot, put on the stove and switch on a low heat. Add a bit of milk and whisk, then add gradually 600 ml of milk. Whisk constantly not to let the mixture be burnt, it will start gradually thickening. As soon as the mixture is thick as heavy sour cream remove from the heat at once and cool for 5-7 minutes.
4. Fill a piping bag with the cooled cream.
5. Cover the baking tray with a sheet of parchment paper including wall sides, pour in the dough and spread evenly.
6. Pipe the cream on the dough three strips laterally and three strips vertically not far from each other.
7. Put the baking tray into the oven heated to 180°C and bake the cake for 20 minutes, then reduce heat to 160°C and bake for another 15 minutes. Check the readiness with a wooden stick, it is to be dry after inserting into the cake.
8. Take the cake out of the oven, cool and sprinkle the Italian magic creamy cake with caster sugar.
