Italian Hot Chocolate (Cioccolata Calda) is a smooth, creamy, thick and delicious hot chocolate. What makes it different from other versions of Hot Chocolates is that it is very creamy, thick, tasty rich and very chocolate-ier.
It is made with original Cocoa Powder, Dark Chocolate bits, Milk and Sugar. A separate base of Corn Starch / Corn Flour mixed with milk bit by bit is added to the Cocoa Chocolate Milk mix and is blended simultaneously to make the Hot Chocolate thicker and creamier. Corn Flour is the ‘Secret Ingredient’ in the Italian version as it gives the thick and smooth texture to the Hot Chocolate. Though I used sugar here as a sweetener, I usually prefer Brown Sugar/Jaggery Powder as it adds a distinct taste to the Hot Chocolate.
Keep the heat low by keeping the Stove in Sim. And stir the mixture or blend them with a blender constantly to avoid scorching.
