ITALIAN SALAD
Ingredients:
– Cucumber 1 big
– Tomato: 2 small
– Capsicum: 1 small
– Onion: 1 small
– Apple: 1 big
– Lettuce: 5 to 6 leaves
For dressing:
– Dried red chilli (crushed): 1 tspn
– Black pepper powder: 1/2 tspn
– Dried basil leaves: 1 tspn
– Sugar: 1 tspn
– Olive oil: 3/4 tbls
– Vinegar/Lemon juice: to taste
– Salt: to taste
Method:
Skin the cucumber, and chop it along the all the vegetables and fruit into bite sized pieces. Remove the seeds from the tomato before chopping.
Transfer all the ingredients for dressing into a big bowl, and mix thoroughly
Add all the cut vegetables and fruit, except the lettuce leaves into the bowl, and mix well till the dressing is coated well on the pieces. Adjust salt.
Finally add the lettuce leaves, and mix gently.
Italian salad is ready to be served!
Note:
– Any raw vegetable or fruit can be used as per your preference.
– It’s ok to keep everything ready, but better to mix the salad with the dressing just 5 minutes before serving. This would help in retaining the freshness.
