Ingredients:
• 500 gr of minced veal
• 2 slices of bread
• ½ onion
• 300 gr of Passata (tomato puree)
• 50 gr of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan
• Black pepper
• Salt
• Fresh parsley
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 2 cups of milk
• 1 egg
• 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Recipe step by step:
1) Start cutting the crust from the slices of bread.
2) Soak the bread in 2 cups of milk
3) While the bread is soaking, blend half onion.
4) Take a new bowl and rub it with the garlic clove. This will give the flavor of the garlic to the meatballs without leaving pieces of garlic in them.
5) Put in this bowl:
– 500 gr of minced veal
– 1 whole egg
– 50 gr of parmesan or pecorino
– Blended onion
– Soaked bread (after squeezed it well)
– A touch of fresh parsley, 2 teaspoons of salt and a touch of black pepper.
6) Mix thoroughly
7) Once mixed, make the meatballs, trying to make them as equal as possible, so they will cook evenly.
8) Pan fry a clove of garlic in 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. When the garlic is brown, remove it and add the passata.
9) Bring to boil and add the meatballs.
10) Cook each side for 15 minutes with the lid on.
11) Serve with parmesan and bread.
Wow! How good was that!
BUON APPETITO.
