Years of competing in pageants had me watching my carb intake and this is what I would eat to satisfy my pizza cravings. The toppings are where it’s at. A slice of conventional pizza is so heavy that I can usually only eat two slices max. What I end up realizing is that what I really wanted was tomato sauce, basil, some cheese, meat, and veggies.

Enter the “tortilla pizza” = the simplest and most nutritious version of a pizza you can bake at home in your oven or in your toaster. My Aunt introduced me to it. It clears out your fridge, is fun to assemble, and is also light enough for you to eat the whole thing topped with literally anything you want. It’s great for anyone trying to lose weight (you swap out the flour tortilla for a lower carb or keto version) and for kids too!

Re: pizza sauce measurements, just taste it and adjust it as you go. I really don’t recommend skipping the italian seasoning, garlic, and dash of onion powder. The key to this whole thing satisfying cravings is that it’s a ton of flavor without the heavy oils or calories so don’t forget the spices! The rest of the work is chopping toppings and grating cheese. Tag me in your pizzas if you post on IG – I’m at @CrystalClues 🙂 🙂 🙂
