This is a favourite recipe, Italian Tiramisu – a classic dessert. Having lived in Italy for almost 25 years, I have tried Tiramisu all over Italy in restaurants and homes – made by chefs and Nonna’s – but this is my favourite because it’s so easy and quick to make and so tasty. It’s also much lower in fat and sugar than any other tiramisu recipes.

½ cup cream or 1 pot yoghurt (low fat or otherwise)
Strong black coffee
Sherry, rum or brandy
Savoiardi biscuits
Dark pure cocoa powder

Soak first layer of savoiardi (sponge fingers) in coffee in a separate dish
Put on base of serving dish
Drizzle chosen alcohol over
