We are all cooped up during this quarantine lock down. So to pass some time, I thought I should do some FOCACCIA ART. I was inspired by famous Norwegian artist, Edvard Munch’s, The Scream 1893. Focaccia bread is an Italian bread that is very easy to make. It doesn’t take much work. Just a little mixing and a little kneading and before you know it, you have a delicious, fluffy and crispy focaccia.
I used a variety of bell peppers, onions, asparagus and an eggplant to create this beautiful focaccia loaf! You can do this at home. It’s not too crazy difficult. Haha..we have time.

Focaccia Dough : (Makes one 9″x13″ loaf)
340 g warm water
418 g bread flour (you can use AP)
35 g olive oil
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp yeast
25 g olive oil for the baking pan
Art Supplies:
1 small red pepper
1 small orange pepper
1 small yellow pepper
1 small onion
4 stalks of asparagus (I blanched mine)
4 small purple potatoes raw, grated
1 small eggplant
1 egg yolk for egg wash
Maldon salt for garnish
Mix and let rest for 1 hour.
After one hour, you can start to make this bread. If you want to skip the ART and just make the focaccia, let the dough rest in the pan for 45 mins before you bake.
Bake in a preheated 425 degree F oven for 25 mins.
Let cool in the pan for 5 mins before moving to a cooling rack for an additional 10 mins.
