Welcome to the worlds most romantic city; Venice!! We’ve always heard how expensive Venice is and as a budget traveler to avoid it but it can be done!! We stayed at this great hotel called Hotel Bernardi for about $80USD. Everything in Venice can be done on foot so no money has to be spent on public transport. The grocery stores are everywhere and have very fare prices. We grabbed a salad, sandwich, yogurt beer, and a bottle of wine for $10 USD. We also found $2 spritz and this great sandwich shop that sells mini sandwiches for $2 USD. Venice can be done on a budget but it can also break the bank. Avoid this by not eating out. In a few cities in Italy and almost always in Venice there is two additional fees. The service fee which can rise to 12% and the copper fee. This fee can range from $2 euros all the way up to $10 plus euros. These fees are a surprise you don’t want, so grab a sandwich and some wine and sit by the many canals and truly enjoy Venice.
