I’ll tell you in this video how I make a lantern with thick papers. The way the units bind, this lamp shines an incredible light. The home and room décor are a great addition.
It has a width of approximately 17 cm and a height of 21 cm. If you want a wider version, use thicker (180-250 gsm) paper/card, which is bigger than A4 that I used here. However, the inner support centred on a new dimension that needs to be manually increased, as the prototype is constructed for a paper structure of A4.
The 300 gsm paper is used for the cover and support while I used 180 gsm for the shade. This ensures long-term symmetry of the tube structure. The architecture also makes it possible for the environment to change.
