šMeatballs in tomato sauce
I normally make my meatballs with just ground beef and they taste great but You can also use a combination of pork, beef veal and they are equally good.
I use breadcrumbs but you can also use stale bread in the same amount and fresh grated cheese instead of using the canned variety…it really makes the difference.
Ingredients list: (for 4 persons)
For the meatballs:
500g (18oz) (1,10lb) minced beef (or a mix of beef, veal and pork)
100g (1 cup) parmigiano cheese
60g (2/3 cup) breadcrumbs or stale bread
1 egg
60ml milk
1 tblsp of chopped flat leaf parsley
Half a chopped garlic clove
2 pinches of salt
For the tomato sauce:
500 ml tomato sauce
8 tbsps olive oil
1 garlic clove
7/8 basil leaves
1 pinch of salt
