  1. TY for some great recommendations!
Last year went to Catania, had a great time & and ate a lot of authentic local food at great prices. Highly recommend ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Ay ! Vincenzo, you got it right!!
    Point to point.
You made me laugh when yo say what nobody dares…
Venezia, be ready it smells funny in summer….LOL.
IN MY opinion, depends in what " funny" is…( not so funny at all). LOL.
    GOOD, Very good review!
    Give you a big like.
    Regards.

  3. I am a regular visitor to Venice, I go with a group of friends and we hire a palazzo for a week, which makes it cheaper. We go for the Biennale. We tend to pick places less visited like Zatterie facing the Guedecca. We know where to go, where to eat. We shop at Gonads, which is a great little supermarket chain and cook a lot at our temporary home. We often go to the Rialto Market very early to buy fish. Sometimes we will go to a posh hotel on Guedecca for a treat or take a trip to an outer island. The best time of the day is early morning before the crowds arrive. You have to go to St Marks early or visit the Doge Palace you need to get there when it opens. Also we go out of season, October ususally, when it is still warm. Venice can be done succesfully in comfort
I could say the same things about London where I live.

  4. Ciao Vincenzo. My wife really wanted to see the leaning tower, so we went. It's a good stop in your Tuscany trip. But Siena and Florence were the stars for sure. As long as you set your expectations correctly, Pisa is good too.

  5. Ciao Vincenzo, Mi chiamo Shai ed io d'Israele. Ho parenti in Toscana quindi la mia Cittร  รจ Firenze. Mi piace tantissimo le Cittร  Ferrara e Ravenna , due cittร  chd sono incredibili.

  6. I stopped the video at Palermo.
It's a dumpster. Trash EVERYWHERE. One of the ugliest cities I've ever been to. Disgusting. I'll never go even near that place agagin in my life. Z tier…. I would not even think of eating in a place like that.
Same goes for Catania… another trashbin…

  7. Question for you: I picked up,somewhere that it's possible to live in Italy as a pensioner, with we're low taxes. Is this true? If so, how do we realize this? (I will retire on 1 august next year, and plan to spend my 'twilight' years in Italy)

  8. Last year we were on vacation in Rome, this year we go to Treviso, Torino is on the books for next year!

  9. For me, Napoli is number 1. I love the pizza, the street food, and the madness ๐Ÿ™‚

After that, is all about Sicilia: Palermo, Trapani, Catania, Cefalu, you name it.

  10. Vincenzo what you said about Venice is ๐Ÿ’ฏ, Iโ€™ve been many times but I have a decency budget, I know locals and move around the local subculture – itโ€™s S tier for me, no question!!!!
I love your review of Torino, I never went but now I want to after listening to your thoughts on it – something to look forward to.

  11. agree (where I can because of where I have been) but also absolutely in love of Trieste and Genua, while liking pretty much: Lecce

  12. Naples is like LA, both terrific and terrible. But I love it,Torino another S-tier spot for me

  13. Come on Vincenzo give Pisa a break ๐Ÿ˜‚

Although you are right, a few weeks ago I went to Pisa by train – I was going from Torino to Roma, but I had a 2 hours-stop in Pisa. I got to the tower and walk around the city a bit, honestly those 2 hours were enough. I would say that it is worth visiting (just do a very quick visit).

  14. Palermo S tier, hell yes!! In 2024 I visited Italia for the first time, started in Sicilia and honestly, Palermo and Catania left the bar sooo so high, I enjoyed Roma and Firenze a tad less than everyone else! Amazing food, beautiful without being overly manicured, busy and lively but not crowded, way cheaper than Rome or Florence, the locals are amazing and so cool (since they aren't overcrowded by tourists). Sfincione, caponata, the wine, nuts (pistacchio and mandorla), GRANITA!!, the finocchio and orange salad (all the salads, really), the fruit and fish!! Ooof… Sicilia is one of my favourite places in the world really, all the history, intricate cultural mixture and the amazing people. Can't wait to go back, I get emotional just remembering it.
I really wanna go back to visit more of the incredible towns all along the island, hike the Etna and go up north, especially to Bologna and Napoli. I'm definitely adding Bari and San Remo!

  15. I go every year to Turin to enjoy the food and buy my wine. I thought it was my little secret, until I started discussing with my radiologist colleagues from south eastern France and realised that they also had the same ritual. It was also the first trip I did with my fiancรฉe. The region around the city teams with amazing restaurants and you also have many of the greatest museums of Italy (Museo Egizzio, Mole Antonelliana/Museo Nazionale del Cinema, Museo Nazioanle del Automobile name the most famous). Glad you gave it an S rating ! There is quite a significant number of foreign tourists in the city, nearly all of them French. By the way, Vincenzo, do you know why in English we use the French names for many of Italy's major cities (Turin, Milan, Rome, Florence, Naples) ? I have always found this a little weird.

  16. I've spent a whole summer in solo trip in Italy and the best time I had was in Ischia island in the middle of nothing because it was a family-run place with the nonna in kitchen, and only Italians from the south who made a party with songs each evening and everybody made me feel like I was part of family.

  17. Sono d'accordo con te Sono di napoli e noi adoro a voi anche nostra pizza รจ bellissima per me siamo paradiso al sud d'italia

  18. What do you think about Como, and varenna for example, planning a trip there in june

  19. I love Italy. Iv done Venice, Verona, lake Garda, Sorrento and Capri. Out of those I thought lake Garda was amazing. Not sure what itโ€™s like now, I went in 2006.

  20. I lived one year in Ferrara and missing it alot, for me it is S tear
other than that, after visiting almost all of the cities you've listed I totally agree with you
lotsof these cities could made s tear but over crowded and tourists ruined them
that's why when I visit Italy I usually go for none tourism places
there are many places to see in Italy even for someone who visits there once a year, just try to be a local for a week or two, it's a geat experience

  21. I was in Milan, Padova, Rome, Venice, Lido di Jesolo, Rimni, Verona,Trieste. For photography, Venice is the best, the most boring city is something like Palmanova. In Padova, I tried espresso with menthol, which is a unique experience, recommended. If you go to Rome, rent a bike, it's a godsend or Vesapa. If you want to be a man, buy Proraso, real men know why.

  22. I visited Bari in 1986, the last time. It wasnโ€™t the place where you want to spend your holidays. Maybe it changed.

  23. Genova, it's an amazing city, dirty maybe when I went, but amazing anyway. If I had a bucket of money, I'd try and recreate an old BBC series: Francesco's Italy, top to toe. I probably drive a bit better than a Venetian tho.

  24. I've been twice and I agree with what you shared about the crowded areas!! The second time I was able to explore more like a local. San Gimignano is one of my favorite towns to walk through๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ

  25. -As an italian, your review is spot on. I live in Genoa and i cannot stress enough how beautiful it is. Palaces, churches, the biggest hiistorical center (old town) of the western world… Just don't bother with the aquarium, it's nice but it's overcrowded and overpriced. Lose yourself in the "carruggi", it's so much better.

  26. Troppi turisti in Italia e video come questo non aiutano, Lasciami stare Bologna per cortesia, che rimanga cosi com'e' ancora accogliente e amichevole.
