Visiting Italy Venice & Milan Como Lugano
Flight from London Heathrow to Venice Marco Polo. Bus 15 โฌ10 per person to Venice Mestre, dinner at Grill It halal restaurant.

Breakfast tea & biscuits then walk to Venice (Venezia) Mestre Station for train to Venezia St Lucia (venice canal) at โฌ1.50 per person.
Day spent in Venice / Venezia using waterbus โฌ25 per person for 24 hours from ticket purchase time – unlimited hop on hop off – we started at Ferrovia B visited San Marco / Rialto / St Macuolo then back to Ferrovia B
Then train at St Lucia Venezia Station for Mestre Station.
Dinner at Desh Halal Pizzeria a small shop serving desi halal food & pasta / pizza
then travel from Venice to Milan
Train from Mestre Venezia 10.23 to Milano Centrale at 13.38 using Trenitalia at โฌ20.90 per person (under 4 free) including 1 change at Verona Porta Nuova
Milano Centrale we did a little tour around the station then had lunch at McDonalds (filet o fish). Next we walked to take the coach to Linate Airport (โฌ7 per adult / โฌ3 above 4years) for the car rental service.
We received the car and made our way to Shalimar halal Pakistani Indian take away in Milan Central.
To consider when driving in Milan
zone B which is a low emission zone
Zone C a charge of โฌ7.50 Monday to Friday 7.30 to 19.30 ( similar to Central London’s congestion charge)
Its Saturday so no charge we parked close to the restaurant and enjoyed a lot of desi food.
Then walked to Piazza Di Duomo for Duomo Di Milano and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
On the walk back to the car we grabbed some bread and milk for breakfast then made our way to Como for Airbnb accommodation for next 2 nights.
Next day we had tea and bread for breakfast. We visited a local Lidl for some snacks before heading to visit the Italian/ Switzerland border towns Chiasso Mendriso and Lugano.
After a lovely chilly walk around Lake Lugano we drove to Fox Town shopping centre in Mendrisio for some Swiss chocolates and McDonalds.
Most places in Switzerland accept โฌ but their main currency is CHF (Swiss Franc) and some places accept โฌ0 and give change in CHF.
We then drove back to Como for dinner at K2 kebab & pizzeria (halal) before heading to back to accommodation.ฤบ
Next day also our last day we packed everything had bread & tea then left to visit como and took a funicular train to Brunate a small village on top of the mountains ( Funicolare Como Brunate) โฌ7 adults return tickets
At the top we walked around then had lunch at Locanda Milano – margherita / tomato basil pasta / tagliatelle a la porcini
We then took the funicolare back to como did some shopping in Lidl then slowly back to Milan for a quick drive around the City (outside zone C) then continued to Linate Airport for car return then flight back to UK.
