Hidden beneath our 300-year-old manor house in Switzerland is something we never expected to find: a massive historic wine cellar.
In this video, I’ll show you not just our own cellar, but the wider wine culture of Switzerland, where vineyards have been producing wine for centuries (although it’s not available outside of Switzerland!), and underground cellars like this have been used for centuries to store wine, food, and supplies.
Before revealing whatโs under our house, we visit a local Swiss wine region and explore traditional cellar spaces beneath historic city streets – even our favorite karaoke bar is in one! ๐ถ
Then we take you inside for the big reveal. The scope of the wine cellar is impressive, it’s history is intriguing and it’s issues are daunting, like humidity and ventilation issues caused by blocked airflow channelsโsomething that could impact its use as a proper wine cellar.
Now the question is: what should we do with it?
๐ท If you love wine, cellars, or historic spacesโthis is a dream project.

What a find. I could see it as a storage space to be used for a business. I'm sure space like this is at a premium in the area.
What a cool find! I love that you are giving it new life. I am surprized at how large it is.๐๐
A perfect event space.
