Don’t you think it’s possible to make a cake without flour?
Absolutely wrong!
That means you don’t know “torta caprese”, it seems that an important chef of the 20s, Carmine Di Fiore, created this cake by mistake in his bakery workshop on the island of Capri, while he was intent on creating an almond-flavored cake and forgot a fundamental ingredient: “the flour”.
What was meant to be a disaster, became instead a delicious cake.

Let’s find out the ingredients:

200gr (7 oz) peeled almonds or almond flour
200gr (7 oz) dark chocolate
100gr (3,5 oz ) sugar
70gr (2,5 oz) soft butter
4 eggs
2 tbsp of rum or your favourite liqueur (optional)
