In this video, I’m wandering around Pianella, a little town in Abruzzo’s Pescara province, and really digging into the big question—could you actually live here?
Pianella sits in the hills, tucked between the Adriatic coast and the mountains. It’s quiet. Slower. The kind of spot people often imagine when they dream about starting a new life in Italy. But what’s day-to-day life actually like?
This episode is part of my “Best Places to Live in Abruzzo” series. I’ll walk you through the old town center, check out the local streets, and explore the countryside so you get a genuine feel for life here. We’ll talk about the basics—like what amenities are around, what the atmosphere’s like, and who might actually fit in here.
If you’re curious about moving to Italy or want to see what real village life is like far away from the tourist crowds, this series should give you a good shot at figuring out if a place like Pianella could feel like home.
Tell me—could you see yourself living here? Drop your thoughts in the comments.

That was a very interesting insight into daily life in Pianella, a bustling little town with so much going for it. I loved the photography and the wonderful colours. Good idea too, to show just what ypu can get for your budget on the housing market and there do appear to be some real bargains to be had. I hope this video will give lots of prospective buyers the incentive to come to Abruzzo and savour its delights!
Ottima location 🍾🍾
Thx Bella and Mr. B …. Great video! Looking forward to your next “Beautiful Spots – Abruzzo” #2 video. Hoping you and Mr. B will come visit Canada and enjoy flying his drone around our wine, beaches, lakes and island regions. Oh, also great coffee and pastries here to try 😂

Bella, love what you said 'it is a practical town' functioning, working, not dead, having community is how I interpreted that. Please continue to give your insight to these places. Ciao Ciao!!🎉
Oh I love the idea of learning about these amazing places! Looking forward to this series and hope to visit one of these days! 🙂
This could be a really cool new series! Well done! Pianella looks to be a cute place. I think the 7% tax scheme stops after 10 years… is that correct?
Pianella looks nice and peaceful with nearby coast, airport and trains in Pescara. Bit lower down in altitude. What is attractive about Abruzzo is private business seems to operate most shops and services rather than Corporations. Giving personalised character to the towns rather than uniformity. Like the villa as long as not too far away from those goods and services.
The 7% tax scheme sounds very good. EU reporting gets triggered living in Italy so uncertainty surrounds how Italy may end up classifying different financial structures. May get away with just 7%, maybe not. But it would come with EU eyes and scrutiny on how you operate financially that would certainly involve annual layers of bureaucracy.
Like the concept of your new series – great photography and presentation of your region 😊🌟
I have watched several of your videos and really enjoyed this format and learning more about Pianella. Well done and I hope you continue doing these throughout beautiful Abruzzo. Thanks!
You're such a clever bunny Bella! Great idea, as so many people are curious about your region. Bravissima as always! 🥰🤗😘💖
