Whoever made that Rueben has never actually had a Rueben.
You have to do the USA by itself first. By region. Cause you had some northeastern sandwiches there. While the south has it's own style/take on best sandwiches. So does southwest and northwest. You didn't have a poboy and you boys know about that.
Unlike those lazy Spaniards, Italians pronounce the "L".
I have never in my life even heard the word jibarito. Also, that's not a sandwich, that's just a loose pile of food. It's a mess.
To not have the PB&J or nutter fluffer competing for the US is a missed opportunity
If I may – the issue with considering a hot dog a sandwich isnโt the bun. Itโs that itโs just a sausage. You could put it in a slice of bread (and in fact if you were too poor growing up for buns thatโs common iykyk) and it still wouldnโt be a sandwich imo because itโs just one sausage. And with a hot dog the bun/bread is optional, itโs still a hot dog without it. Now a lobster roll, which is served on a similar bun, is definitely a sandwich. Also thatโs the saddest Reuben Iโve ever seen.
As an American, never even heard of jibarito, but I love all the ingredients, so I'd give it a try!
EBBERS IT'S NOT MORTA-DEYA!!! Morta-Del-La!
Donโt listen to the haters Iโm glad you picked jibarito. I never considered fried plantains as bread but I need to try that now, absolute genius from Puerto Ricans as usual it seems. Will attempt to make one of these better than you did lol (;
Never had a Rueben in the US with the corned beef sliced even half that thick. That doesn't look like a sandwich cut to me unless you are eating a brisket sammy.
this video is super bright please tone it down a little
They didnt include Sweden because it would sweep to easily
Best sandwich ever is the muffuletta followed by croque madame, Ruben then Cuban.
I know there are so many different sandwiches out there and it had to be hard to pick, but some of your choices are just whacky.
At least for America: Philly Cheese Steak, Italian Beef, PB&J, Lobster Roll, Cuban, Po'Boy, Pork Tenderloin, French Dip, Sloppy Joe….
at 8:45 anyone notice the shadow going across the background?!
Hope they do this again since the US has SOOOO MANY iconic sandwiches they didn't feature here. Now I want a sandwich….
Common guys! This is NOT a fair fight or comparison! It should be pork sando vs pork sando vs pork sando to compare between countries!!! Letโs see that video ๐๐ผ @sortedfood
Italy and Japan have IDENTITIES in their sandwiches. The USA is a mishmash of SO MANY cultures… that it may win strictly on the technicality alone. For me personally, I'd put up a Philly Cheesesteak against any of these.
For local legend / regional wouldโve been cool to see a cannibal sandwich (Wisconsin thing)
I can understand the grilled cheese being iconic to the USA, but to put it against 2 strong protein sandwiches is unfair. All you had to do was add bacon to even that handicap, it would remain iconic as such too
I feel like all three US opinions were not good. I think a Philly cheese steak and a cubano should have been on there
I'm actually curios, is mortadella uncommon in England? Wait…the grilled cheese has smoked apple wood in it?
Guyssss…. You needed to eat the Grilled Cheese when its hot! A fresh Grilled Cheese is the only way to do it!!! You need to experience the cheese pull!
Cubano is a must!
My partner is from Nebraska and the Reuben is 100% from Jewish Russians in Omaha and the best sandwich ever! ๐
Man, you guys should've gotten like a pulled-pork BBQ sandwich for USA. Specifically eastern carolina (vinegar) style.
I think the first 2 were British American, based on the cheese and 'salt beef'. But an interesting episode. I'd hoped round 2 would be a Philly Cheesesteak or Lobster Roll.
If you ever need to do a worst sandwich the chop suey sandwich is a great option
PERFECT excuse to splurge and do a wagyu katsu sando! Oh well I suppose rent needs to be paid as well.
Do it again, but with Chilean sandwiches!
Do more episodes with other countries (including Britain, I guess), and then a series finale with the best from each country.
puerto rican food doesn't usually use hot chilis, so i am curious to know how the jibarito was made
This feels like a full throw to send USA under the bus. A plantain bun absolutely no one in the us is picking that up
Iโve never been interested in trying tripe, but that last Italian sandwich sounded so good Iโd try it. I do love a fruit sando, specifically a mango sando and a tomago sando. Japan has some very fun sandwiches. That all said, the meat on the Rueben was cut too think and there wasnโt nearly enough. Any deli in New York or New Jersey would have been 2 or 3 times the thickness of that sandwich.
American grilled cheese sandwich is what I make when I want to question my health.
LEARN TO PRONOUNCE FOREIGN FOOD NAMES CORRECTLY!!!!!
ITALIAN WORDS ARE NOT PRONOUNCED LIKE SPANISH WORDS, NOR ARE SPANISH WORDS PRONOUNCED USING ITALIAN CONVENTIONS.
That is not a reuben ๐
Brother man. I am from the Usa and i have never ever had a JIBARITO
The Hamburger is the Americas most popular sandwich I think ๐ค
The grilled cheese was stone cold which means they weren't judging it in the one in front of them, it was on previous experience
1:00 I know Ben always pronounces Spanish as frยฃnch but now he's pronouncing Italian as Spanish. Fecking what ๐
The mortadeya incident does make me wonder…why does Italian use a double L? What is it doing differently than the single L?
Kinda rigged isn't it? How was a tripe sandwich going to win?
Defined a sandwich as 'sandwiched between bread' then used plantain. An Italian pizza is closer to a sandwich than the jibarito and would have easily one.
Are these thumbnails AI Slop? If so, I'm unsubscribing right now.
Ben Ben Ben, itโs mortadeLLa not mortadeya, also itโs not salami, itโs a type of salumi ๐
