In this episode, we share the latest progress on our Regency-inspired primary bedroom renovation at the chรขteau โ featuring hand-painted panels, gilding, custom stencils, and beautiful Wedgwood-inspired medallions created entirely by hand.
With the bedroom transformation nearly finished, itโs time for our next adventure: a road trip from France to Italy! We drive through the Alps and the Mont Blanc Tunnel on our way to Parma, where weโll attend Mercanteinfiera di Parma, the largest antiques fair in Europe.
This incredible event brings together antique dealers, collectors, interior designers, and treasure hunters from around the world. Weโre hoping to find antique jewelry, paintings, and special pieces for the chรขteau.

Bonjour! Iโm Vivienne, an artist, designer, antique & vintage jewelry dealer, and also the chรขtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful husband, Simon, our daughter, and โwhenever possibleโ lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 26 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, after 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit chรขteau, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and โof courseโ antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by chรขteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating chรขteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. The panels are beyond beautiful. They look like really old wallpaper designs. I don't know the Bridgerton or Petit Trianon references, but these videos are so much fun to watch. You take a day off and go to another chateau and paint skirting boards, while they go to another chateau to repair a collapsed wall. Chateau community love.
