My Hungarian grandmother used to make broccoli with heavy cream and Butter. Big card, cottage cheese. Egg drop dumplings. Brings back a lot of memories. Thank you so much.❤
Gotta blanche the broccoli rabe in salted water for a couple of minutes to remove the bitterness. Then, pan fry with olive oil, garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes. Remove from heat, finish with Parmesan or Romano cheese. Optional: toasted bread crumbs.
I love sauteed broccolini! Just like the way she did it, with just a pinch of red pepper flakes, too. 😋 (BTW it's not "baby broccoli, it's actually a cross btwn broccoli & Chinese kale.)
I can guarantee you that Broccoli is among the best-selling vegetable plants, many of them are sold in June and July, so you can harvest them all winter
When I was living in"Little ItaLy"in San Francisco, my favorite restaurant was the US CAFE, comprised of 3-4 ladies of a certain age bound up in big white aprons. The food was a protein, surrounded by 3 veg, each cooked a different way. Braised and garlic fried, poached, long-cooked I😢talian green beans. My first brockilini was their's.
