I am from Kolkata (India) and as a Bengali, rice pudding is a significant part of my life. We have rice pudding on our birthdays, it's our version of birthday cakes and generally an easy dessert option in Bengali homes.
As a dutch person seeing the fries sold at cafetaria and friet shops for 2 euro and 50 cents for 17 dollars is genuinely insane. If you ever visit the netherlands or belgium treat yourself to a 'frietje' or 'patat' if you're weird and go up north for some reason 😉
As a 50-year-old woman I feel like I have to comment on this your content is great I love seeing new stuff come up from you ok now that that’s out of the way rice pudding was a dessert that I would say a fair amount of Gen X grew up eating it was something our parents grew up eating therefore so did we it’s awesome and lastly you’re calling that restaurant futuristic and I’m sitting here going that looks like every restaurant from the 80s.😂❤
I wish I could give u Bangladeshi style rice pudding, aka Frini / finni / payesh… It’s a desert… I bet I can convert u to be a rice pudding lover and craver

Macaroni cheese and chips (similar to the Belgian fries) was one of my favourite meals growing up.
The idea of Ambrosia ice pudding turns my stomach, but I do remember home cooked being quite nice.
