That bottle in your hand right now, the one with the kangaroo logo or the outback sunset on the label, it might not be what you think it is. Hidden sugar levels that rival soda. Pesticide residues banned in Europe. Chemical additives never disclosed on any label. And corporate deception on a scale that would shock even the most casual wine drinker. For years, Australian wine has been marketed as the affordable, approachable alternative to expensive French or Italian bottles. The cheerful labels and budget friendly prices have made these brands supermarket favorites across America, Britain, and beyond. But behind the friendly marketing lies an industry that’s been cutting corners for decades. We analyzed eight of Australia’s most popular wine brands exported to America and Britain. We examined laboratory testing reports conducted by independent researchers. We reviewed court documents and regulatory filings from multiple countries. We investigated production practices that most consumers never see. We broke down ingredient profiles that companies refuse to disclose publicly. What we discovered will change how you shop for wine forever. These massive corporations are selling industrial products engineered for profit while marketing them as authentic Australian wine. They’re adding sugar levels that would embarrass soda companies. They’re using pesticides classified as probable carcinogens. They’re exploiting regulatory loopholes to hide what’s really in your glass. These are the Australian wine brands you need to avoid. And by the end of this video, we’ll show you which wines are actually worth your money. Let’s expose them.

This is amazing, if half true. Most of these products are sold through BWS, Thirsty Camel, Celebrations and Liquerland. Now if this true then why hasn’t it been challenged at a legal level. Won’t happen. So keep drinking.
Time to visit local state wide vineyards. Plenty around, in all states, not priced very well, actually way over priced, but yes better.
I mostly drink French and Italian wines. Our Victorian wines are too sour for me.

A huge part of the population cannot buy normal natural wine without additives and too much sugar. I am one of the poor – bought from Hardy's wines. I probably won't…
Avoid my ass!!
If you cant make a good wine shut them down .some of the rubbish there putting into win is a disgrace 😤
I would have thought "Australia Food Exposed" was a YouTube channel to avoid!
You say "independent laboratory testing" found . . . Yes but which specific laboratory??? No you don't atribute your asertion!
You don't have the guts to do that!!!
It looks like everything from Australia Food Exposed is just some AI generated crap from a spurious body!
Wine is itself made up of a series of chemicals such as water, ethanol, organic acids such as tartaric and succinic acids, glucose, fructose, glycerol, polyphenols such as anthocyanins, and chemicals such as methoxypyrazine and sulfites.
All problems solved. Drink Koonara wine from Coonawarra. Its our favorite Australian wine and we met the winemaker who is passionate about his 🍷
Substance dependant cultures sweep under carpet the undesirable aspects of the substance,so they use fake delusional promotion aspects of the substance,so Governments are part of that substance culture,so they also will not acknowledge the health problems associated with modern poisoning.
There's an extensive list of living animals that end up in the crushing process, addiction denies this aspect.
They fill huge sea containers with bladders, ship the stuff to Europe, put it into bottles make up some catchy labels, sell it like hot cakes, the nature of the beast.
Ever not the wine experts look fried and mild cross eyed look.
You know nothing about wine shows. The judges that participate in these shows are all opinionated and experienced tasters. I've judged in numerous shows and I can assure you it's impossible to get wine judges to give high ratings. For a start every wine is masked so it's impossible to identify any brand. And that stupid comment that minor shows are somehow not relevant shows again your lack of knowledge. These local shows focus on specific grape varieties and specific styles. A gold from one of these competitions is a genuine confirmation of quality. You should outright apologize to the industry over your outrageous comments. Disgraceful😮
👍🏻
That’s why I make my own wine and have done for 30 years no preservatives no sugar no sulfur and no pesticides
Maybe have a look a the food standards P4 in Australian winemaking. Some of your comments are not true. Some of the additives are LEGAL. A bit of research would have helped!!
Much appreciated for your research and courage.
Drink water
My family came here from Germany in 1836 and started the wine industry in Camden NSW. The wine industry should be made to display all the ingredients. Consumers need transparency!
In the early 1980s the French gov Forced their wine producers in Alsace to add sulphates and other chemicals to their white wines to make them all look the same white colour.
If they didn't then they would be prosecuted for labelling their wines Alsace appellation ( AOC.).
The organic wine makers faced serious challenges to keep selling their product as they were intended
Rules uneccesary regulations and expectations make selling wines for both domestic and export.
Large volume winemakers are often forced to dance for someone else's pleasure and amusement.
Is the Australian wine industry you speak of any different to any other countries ? If you truly appreciate wine you will know the value equation.
