  2. i like dom a lot, i know you are supposed to like krug better but i prefer dom most days, like the 08 better than 13

  3. For me a bottle of DP is a rarity. But three bottles? OMG! Be glad you forgot your spittoon.
    A couple of months ago a friend shared a bottle of 2006 DP she had received with my wife and me. We thought while still quite good it was past its peak, developing a bruised apple taste I find unpleasant. We thought it would have been better opened a few years earlier. I think even an age worthy champagne like DP are best opened by ~15 years. This video corroborates my preference. Thanks for thiks informative tasting.🍾

  5. Gorgeous wines. I finally had some P3 when we visited Moët last October. Not a shy wine at all delicious and super complex. And I’ve yet to have changed my mind, champagne is my desert island wine.

  6. I love old champagne, but I also love young vibrant champagne. Last May I had the 61 Dom Perignon with some friends. It was definitely past it's prime and tasted like a bone dry sherry. Fantastic experience though. Had the 96 in 2023 and the 02 last summer, both were excellent, the 96 was probably better than yours, the fruit was older but it still had fresh acidity and plenty of bubbles. Cheers 🥂🥂

  7. Very interesting tasting. I always enjoy all the different ageing stages of wine for different reasons (even fine Claret!), no reason to limit ourselves to only one.

  9. Thanks for sharing. I haven’t been so fortunate to do such a tasting.
    Personally, I tend to be in the camp of enjoying younger vintages of champagne versus holding them for 20-30 years.
    Part of the fun in drinking them is the lively, effervescent bubbles (a party in a glass) of the wine. Losing the bubbles is a big deal for me. As a general statement, I think this is true of most drinkers of champagne. There’s also the paradox of a greater price of an older champagne when (for me) the greater pleasure is in drinking the wine at a younger age. But hey, that’s just my palate!

  10. In Stockholm there was a lot of rich young boys who liked to spray this on the girls. When they were threatened with being banned from the exclusive clubs, they invented "washing". Buy two bottles, order the bartender to pour one of them down the sink…

  12. Another wonderful tasting! One question: how old is a vintage when Dom Perignon first releases it? After all, your youngest wine is already over a decade old. And another: is the 1996 cork the one that you held up, which seems visibly eroded? If so, that's a pity…

  13. I worked for Moet-Hennessy late 90s. I had a btl of a vintage Moet Rose which they don't produce every year. I bring it to a 1999-2000 New Years Eve party & I put it in their fridge. At 11:45 pm I go to get it & it's gone. The hosts of this party poured my wine with all the other cheap crap everybody brought in plastic cups 😲 LOL There was nothing I could do, it was gone. Moral of the story : don't bring great wine to a party where nobody cares . Lesson Learned 🍾
