  1. Im easy, if its ceblebrity i stay away. They know nothing about it. Like snoop dogg. Seriously?

  2. I just had a 2012 marzo from caduceus last night. 55% Sangiovese 35% Cabernet 10% barbera. Holy 8 lb 6 oz sweet baby Jesus it was probably one of the best wines I’ve ever had. Like candied cherries/apples, strawberry fruit leather, plum, rose petals and mineral like rust or iron. Definitely what Dracula drinks when he’s smashing.

  3. I think Sam Neill is more of a wine maker than Sting. He posts from his NZ vineyard/farm quite often on social media.
    What about Francis Ford Coppola?

  4. Might I recommend Caduceus wine by Maynard James Keenan. They are great cared for wines and I don't think I've ever had good celebrity wine otherwise.

  5. This was a fun episode. Pretty nervy of you to be so frank and honest to risk damaging the ego of unknown celebrities. I would like to have known the actual involvement of each celebrity with each of the wines you tasted. For example, I see Cameron Diaz promote her Avaline wines. From the website it looks like these are négotiant wines she buys and labels, so the producers can change with any vintage. Also Two Wolves wines are sold online directly without retail distribution. I love Santa Barbara County wines. Maybe Pink will send you some. The shipping charges will be $$$$! 😂

  6. I’ve had a couple vintages of Ernie Els cabs. They’ve been pretty good representations of Cabernets from South Africa.
Not sure if Els simply licenses his name, or, is actively involved in viticulture. Overall: pretty well done.

  7. Genuinely quite odd how you're so nervous/sheepish about critiquing wine endorsed by celebrities. I mean, you're not even critiquing what they're trained in/skilled at, just their business choice. If anything, you can be even more honest and brave in your opinions as almost none of them are the wine growers who have dedicated their lives to the industry/art. By that logic it's the wine growers you should be more coy about, precisely because it is their wine skills/dedication you are critiqueing. Celebrities are making their fortune elsewhere, don't worry.

  8. Loved the camera man’s comment at the end! 😂
Absolutely no problem in respecting or even liking a celebrity but not all of her/his works. Including wine in this case. 😉

  9. At some point you should try Il Palagio's Sister Moon. It's a little more serious Toscana blending the Sangiovese with Merlot and Cab rather than Merlot and Syrah

  10. Wish this video was more than four wines!! Would love to hear your opinion on lots of other mainstream celeb wines. Coppola and Invivo for example. Really enjoy your videos — you’re brilliant! Best wishes from Canada

  11. That was a lot of fun. Excellent as always! I have to say that without any real thought behind it I tend to dismiss any celebrity wine when shopping for wines. Doesn't matter who it is. When I see that it is a wine that has a celebrity attached to it I pass right by it with an attitude that says "this can't be a serious wine". I don't even pick it up out of curiosity. Probably says more about me than anything else! Thank you for inspiring my own self reflection this morning!😅

  12. I generally avoid celebrity products, but sometimes ignore it completely. Unfortunately in American culture, having your name on a profitable business is more successful than having your name on a good product. Most of these are just arbitrary wines marked up 50% to pay money to the celebrity. It would be different if I knew a celebrity was passionate about wine.

  13. I am no fan of Greg Norman but I tried one of his wines a LONG time ago and it was relatively good. No idea what it is like these days. But yeah, I think they slap a celeb name to their "C" class wines just to get some sales.

  14. Great video as always.
I support the tasting of Maynard James Keenan’s Caduceus Cellars. He started the first winery in Arizona. He has become a real pro and takes it really seriously.

  15. Love your honesty. I would never buy a wine based on it's celebrity connection. If it tastes great, that makes it worth buying.

  16. I was ready to recommend Two Wolves Wines. A totally different story. Those are beautiful wines but difficult to find. The Graciano is just amazing. Cheers from Las Vegas.

  17. I will concur that Wayne Gretzky wines are not the best. 😒 Too bad, because there are many good wines in Canada!?!

  18. /disclaimer
I do not know any of these wines, and I do not feel the slightest inclination to change that.

That said, I really felt your pain. It seems to me there's an eclatant discrepancy between your words and expressions on one hand, and your ratings on the other. I can't shake off the feeling that you were way, way too generous with the numbers.

…which I lament. Your other around 90 ratings in general are much more relatable from your descriptions, is what I feel.

So please, please not only describe but also rate wines without regard to the people behind them!

  19. The miraval is not that bad but definitely doesn't worth the price despite belongs to Brad Pitt, rhe same happens with Hampton Water (Jon Bon Jovi ). They are not to bad indeed but..you can buy better roses for less money.

  20. Love this video! Great, honest approach – if someone puts their name on the label, they also should be open to feedback.

  21. While wine #1 and 2 are $40 and $20 respectively, wine #3 is $70 and #3 and 4 $70?!

Based on your tasting notes I really don’t see any reason to try any of these. Thanks for taking the bullet for us Agnese.

  22. The original Gretzky wines were good, but then he changed the winery that was making them…for the worse. Seems to be a pattern with him—he's dropped significantly recently in many Canadians' eyes 🙁

  23. Speaking of Canada, doesn't Geddy Lee have a label or vineyard or something. And Ryan Reynolds is doing something boozy too I think.

  24. Nice video! Celebrities deserve to be boinked if the make plonk, just like any other winemaker. Oh, and thanks for answering my question about how you opened them. I forgot about Coravin. Cheers!

  25. 88 points is still a fairly high score, and it does not really relate to how you describe Nr.3 at all. Maybe if its shitty, just say so?
