We start clearing out the trash from our abandoned Tuscan villa, and make some real progress on the olive grove. Along the way, we continue to explore some of the more interesting finds we’ve discovered and pack up some of the best items for safe keeping.

  1. I’ve bought home with everything in them and at first it’s exciting but it gets old pretty fast going through items. Living in the USA, I can easily get rid of trash and waste from a home and it’s not that costly. I would like to hear more what it’s costs you and how you handle getting rid of all the stuff in house.

    Good job!

  2. Lived in Italy a long time ago. This really brings me back, very meloncholy. So enjoying your videos and curious about the previous owners. Where are you living while not at the villa?

  3. It’s delightful seeing the garden emerge from all the undergrowth and years of growth that has overgrown the land. I bet it’s going to be truly beautiful once you have cleared it all. Good luck and can’t wait to see what your first project is going to be 😊

  4. Greetings from Snowy , cold Canada! Just came across your vids. Very enjoyable, calm well delivered, interesting. Awesome property & home. Great location on the edge of town, a steam, & orchard. Brilliant! You both appear to be respectful & considerate “caretakers” of that historical property. Great adventure!
Two ideas, because of the size of the property & maintenance required, do some research on what equipment is available to help u keep up with the maintenance outside. There r self propelled trimmers etc available to keep up with such a large property. Looks like you will need a lawn tractor with a large dump cart to help clear the brush etc. Personally , I love that type of work. It’s so rewarding when it’s done & I love working outside.
Secondly, if u think u need some help initially to do a cleanup etc perhaps approach your local church or school & see if they could recommend some young people to give u some help. Employing some local youth periodically is a win win !

  5. When you explained about the bathroom you said you could not use the toilet, so where do you go to the bathroom at when you are working at the villa? If you are traveling from your other home to work in the villa, then do you stay in a local hotel in town when you come to work on the villa for a couple of days?

  6. Maybe consider putting cardboard down to kill grass, then cover the area next to the oleander with white Italian clover. Simple no mow cover.

  7. In this cold, wet January of 2026, what a delight to feel the dusty heat and cicada song emanating from your video! I grew up in Greece and this transported me right back to my childhood summers. I almost cried.
The glass collection, oh to die for!!
The 19th century booklets, how precious! And the buttons! And the shaving equipment! A feast of threads reaching back almost 150 years! What a treat! And the emerging olive grove just feels like a soul sanctuary to me.

  8. Guys I am so delighted to have found your channel! Love the potential of the project and how sympathetically you are approaching it. Can't wait to see more. ❤

  9. If the city ordnances allow, bring in a few goats and chickens. It doesn’t take a lot of them to really make life easier, they are very low maintenance animals and they will keep your grass and weeds, and unwanted pests controlled.

  10. I love these videos. So I have already subscribed. Do you plan to live there full time? If so, when?

  11. I can understand how exhausting it is .
We moved last year & I had to clear up after my husband . Piles & piles of unopened mail & Bank letters . It was unending & v stressful .
    My family were unbelievably helpful.
It can be so stressful as well ..!
    Good luck !

  12. A somewhat sad story with all these leftover items, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

  13. recently your videos appeared and it is fascinating – you have an excellent voice for this and I wonder if you had a background in broadcasting – if you have a video that tells your background that would be nice – watching from Utah

  14. Major question for you both- how about getting a local farmer with goats to graze on your problem areas or better yet, allow them to graze regularly to contain and maintain the brush, vine and grass areas your cutting back now?
