Every year, we create a client gift to celebrate the year at Tavern.

For our second year, we chose wine.

But not just any wine.
We didn’t want another cream label,
an estate illustration,
and a script font pretending to be special.

We wanted something bold.
Something fun.
Something that felt like us.

So we asked a different question.

What if we treated wine the way we treat beer and spirits?
What if we built a world around it?

The inspiration came from an old-school Italian red sauce joint.
White tablecloths.
You ask for wine and they say,
“Red or white?”

House wine.

We took that idea and pushed it one step further.
Not just red or white,
but a little fizz.
A little celebration.

So we chose a Lambrusco.
A sparkling red.

From there, we pulled inspiration from spirits, beer, and hospitality.
Old vernacular.
Playful details.
Discovery moments throughout the pack.

Two horses to mark year two.
Labeled simply as the house wine.
Deep, spirits-inspired details at the base of the bottle.

And then the finishing touch.

Each bottle was hand-dipped in wax
and embossed with the Tavern logo on top.

You don’t just pop the cork.
You dig through the wax.

It slows you down.
It turns opening the bottle into a ritual.

That’s the point.

Packaging isn’t just about how something looks.
It’s about how it feels to open, share, and celebrate together.

These are the kinds of ideas we explore every day at Tavern —
using heritage, hospitality, and craft to build brand worlds people actually want to engage with.
