In this video, we first visit the Il Fattoria di Parma, also known as SalAmeria, near Parma. And then we begin our weekend in San Marino.

We have already visited the Italian ham shop several times before, and we will surely also be back. There is so much to taste, and the staff is very friendly and will help you decide on the items on the menu. You can walk around in the shop/restaurant among hams, salamis and cheese before enjoying a fabulous lunch in the middle of all the goodies. If you want to see more hams, just ask nicely, and you will be allowed to visit the maturing cellars where hundreds and hundreds of hams are hanging, waiting for the exact right mature level to be enjoyed in thin slices for a genuine Italian meal. In the shop, they also offer real Parmigiano Reggiano, Parmesan cheese, which is a must, together with the hams. When you visit the Parma area, don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy lunch here.

After this delicious experience, we continued to San Marino. We had only been in San Marino once before, many years ago, so we were a bit excited. We had found a camper area in a short distance from the little mountain where the capital is situated. There is no fee to stay there overnight in campers. So there were also a few others there, despite our visit was early March. We arrived fairly late, so we waited for the next morning before driving to the capital 🙂
On our first day, the cable car to the centre was still undergoing service. But we had found a parking area close to a lift. And at this parking place, there are some pitches dedicated to campers, and even with the option of connecting to electricity. From there, it’s just a walk to the first of 3 lifts, taking you up to the city. Or, take the stairs…. But, even after arriving by the lifts, there are still thousands of stairs to conquer all over in San Marino. The whole city is situated on Monte Titano and was founded around the year 300 by Saint Marinus. Apart from some beautiful churches, museums and wonderful views, the main sights are the 3 towers and the city walls.
We are still working on the second video from San Marino, so do come back later.
