Not only is this one of my FAVORITE ways to prepare tofu but it’s always a crowd pleaser this is Crispy Tofu “Chikn” 😉 It pairs really well with pasta but it could also be used in a sandwich (think Vegan Chikn Parm 😋) This is part two of my mini Veganuary series where I wanna show fun ways to use tofu. This

Ingredients (serves 2-3)
1 Block Extra Firm Tofu (Pressed and patted dry to remove water)
1/2 Cup Corn Starch in one bowl
1/2 Cup Unsweetened / Unflavored Plant Milk in a second bowl
1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs in a third bowl
1 Tbs Italian Seasoning with divided into 3 parts
Salt to taste about 1-2 tsp

Directions-In each of the three separate bowls (corn starch, plant milk and breadcrumbs) add Italian Seasoning with salt and mix
-Slice Tofu into three stripes about 1/2 inch thick
-Dip each slice of tofu in the corn starch, followed by the plant milk, then corn starch again, then plant milk and then finally bread crumbs and add to a plate
-To a pan add some oil and heat to medium to fry (you can air fry and spray with oil but it might now be as crispy)
-Place each coated slice of tofu and fry on each side until golden brown you will need to flip couple times
-Drain excess oil on a plate with paper towels
-Cut into strips and serve with your favorite pasta

  1. Yum! I would even marinate the tofu before so it has its own flavor inside— maybe garlic salt, soy sauce, hoisin, or better than boullion . The air fryer can offer a nice crisp too for those wanting no oil ~
