My band always used pyrotechnics at our shows.
Until the Great White show where 99 fans perished in flames.
After that, we only used them outdoors with strict control and supervision.
With Fire Officials approval and safety/suppression gear in place.
Don't most hotels and commercial buildings, especially multi- floored buildings have fire sprinkelers and fire alarms?
Was the champagne or wine 80% alcohol?
This tragedy seems incredibly negligent in modern days of 2025/ 2026.

I'm from Switzerland. Our country is awesome but not perfect. Certain safety rules are much more lax than in neighboring countries. Each canton (state) have their own fire safety rules and the canton where this horrific accident happened, has one of the most lax laws. Unfortunately, the owner of the bar doesn't risk much either, because the sentences for accidental manslaughter are 4-6 years. So many lives lost in such a preventable accident

I’ve been in the trades for 30 years so this is my perspective. There seems to be some confusion about the sparkling “flares”🎉. The sparkling “flares” were not really fire works. The sparklers were inside champagne bottles. The sparklers ignited the foam acoustic ceiling tiles due to a server being on some one’s shoulders, is what my understanding is. The person/server raised the bottle up close to the ceiling, and the sparkler ignited the foam. The acoustic foam ceiling was stuck to the original ceiling I assume. Had those tiles not existed, this would have not happened. In some of the videos you can see the panels dripping flames. These panels ignited so quickly you had intense toxic smoke. These were young people having fun. ❤🍁🇨🇦😢

It was not the sparklers, which are used by the millions on New Year's Eve, that led to this tragedy, but the presumably illegal sound mats, which are highly flammable.
Crazg to see how youngsters were dancing and filming,but haveng noticed that ceiling was catching fire! Crazy, were they so oblivious and drunk, crammed 300 in vacuum basement ,absolute disaster,where are owners? They will have to answer for this,,cutting corners as usual,profits profits,,,🤐

Please enlighten my ignorant American a*s. What exactly is a sparkling flare? I've never heard of such a thing. Flares here in the States are not sparklers. They're pyrotechnic devices not meant to be ignited indoors. Is this a case of stupidity causing deaths? Cause it sure sounds like it. Do you folks even bother trying to get the FACTS anymore?
Sparkling drinks can not be good for engaging fires, bottles may be filled with alcohol ,spirits or gasoline for porposes. Molotov cocktail it is Russian style to destabilizing world.

It's astonishing to see how fast fire can spread indoors given the right conditions. I mean right when it began you have a few minutes tops before the whole venue is engulfed

That probably would not be allowed by the fire dept in the USA, to set fires inside. Was the bar over crowded too? Bar owner needs to be held accountable. The owner was not keeping a safe atmosphere for the patrons.
It was the perfect storm of teenagers ,with fireworks and,alcohol ,no safety exits ,flammable roof tiles ,an over crowded bar .
Everything that could go wrong went wrong .
The bar owners will be charged with corporate manslaughter for this
