Piazza Del Duomo, Garibaldi Garden, Palazzo Celestini, Santa Croce church.
The Cafe Leccese is an almond flavored iced coffee invented in Lecce and influenced by both Spain and the Middle-East. Come with us to Nardo to see how it’s made at Cafe Parisi. https://www.instagram.com/caffe_parisi/?hl=en
The Leccese coffee is often called, outside the town of Lecce, a Caffe Salentino. A caffe Soffiato is a type of Leccese coffee also made with ice, almond milk and espresso. A burst of air premixes the drink and adds a fluffy layer of almond flavored bubbles.
Almonds are also the main ingredient of many of Lecce province’s local desserts, like the Salento Almond Cake at Caffe Piccadilly in Santa Maria al Bagno. Almonds are the star of many Puglian cookies as well. In Otranto, in the far south of the Lecce province, a former biochemist whips up modern twists on traditional Puglian recipes at Pasticceria Merola, a true Otranto hidden gem.

Lecce’s desserts do go beyond almonds. Galatina is the birthplace of the Pasticiotto, a pastry with .
a firm, caramelized crust and gooey vanilla custard inside. We visit Pasticceria Ascolone to taste the original. You can walk into almost any small cafe in Galatina to find a hidden gem like we did in a more unknown bar, where the local Pasticiotto was even better than the original!
