Top 5 pizzas of 2025 – Coming in at number 4 is what I consider the best plain I’ve ever made. Seriously. I think about this one a lot. I think most of us home bakers (maybe not the pros) have a couple pizzas that they will always remember or look back at as the GOAT. This is the one.
The story behind this pizza is my mom was visiting from out of town. I made some dough obviously, but we couldn’t find time to bake between all the other meals and activities. So this dough sat out at room temperature multiple times, then back in the fridge. And re-balled once. The dough didn’t loook like it had any action but I promised mom pizza so I decided to make it anyway. And recorded it just in case. And I’m glad I did. I was shocked by the gluten, the coloring, the egg shell, everything. So this one is a tough one to recreate with the unknown proof times. But anyway, Thanks mom!
