What to do in Florence Italy: LAMPREDOTTO local street food in FIRENZE | SHE ATE COW STOMACH? 😱
Moved to Florence from Assisi and this place was also a food lover’s paradise. You’d think that after eating ALL our meals in Assisi with Truffles that we would be sick of it.. hahaha NO WAY! we found another restaurant that had a menu specialising in Truffle so we had to try!
We spent four days in Florence, and we admittedly were getting a little lazy by the time we got here so we opted out on seeing the leaning tower of PISA and stayed in town to eat more food 😛
Lampredotto is a popular street food amongst the locals and has been dated back since Michelangelo was around (and even earlier) which consists of COW’s stomach in fresh bread with herbs and spices. I love being a little adventurous with my food, especially if its a local favourite and something i hadn’t tried before.. so i HAD to try it! it was definitely NOT what i was expecting stomach (tripe) to taste like. The most confronting (but interesting) thing about it, is the way they prepare it in front of you. You can see EVERYTHING.
DAVID was also my highlight of Florence, Michelangelo was TRULY talented and the detail he put into his work was amazing!
