The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong has the tallest indoor pool in the world, the tallest bar in the world, and three michelin stars… but is the final score going to be quite as high as the building?

My heart goes out to all those affected by the apartment fires in Hong Kong. I was devastated to hear something like that happen in this beautiful city. Having evacuated my home this year from fires in Los Angeles, I can only imagine the impact for those involved. Thank you to the City of Hong Kong for hosting me for this review, and I hope it brought some joy to a tough year.
I can
t travel, so watching your videos are a special treat. Thank you. 🙂
How do u make so much money to do all these travels???
Dude you should audition for a DC super hero!!..you got that look!!!..great video!!
I know this isn't relevant but just fyi. A homocide happened around 2 years ago at the hotel in one of the rooms in the bathtub. The incident was a stabbing that killed yoga instructor, Aqua Chow. She succumed a total of 30 stab wounds. A few months after the incident, my cousin had his wedding at one of the ballrooms in the hotel and rented one of the rooms to stay overnight that was either a floor below or above where the stabbing had occured. I hope the room that you toured wasn't the room where the murder took place.
Edit: the murder happened on the 106th floor
That yellow ball you ate in the Chinese rest, it's a stuffed potato. In Colombia, you can find it for less than a dollar on any street corner.
Dim sum is a buncha different types of food? Not a specific dumpling
I don’t know how many you reviewed in Hong Kong, but if I’m staying in an upper end hotel in Hong Kong or Kowloon, where do you suggest I stay? I’ve been about three times mostly as a younger man with less money. High-end, but value for money?
It’s good to see an American enjoying truly good food. America is often derided for its cuisine, but I’ve had some of my best meals there. If you pay the money, and can afford to, some places are unbelievable good.
The basic room for 550$ its a modest price , in compare to Tokyo at 1000$…different vibe and over all interior finishes, but its a top notch, and just want to add the Eggs Benedictine You got for breakfast…WOW these are the best I have ever seen, were they as good as they did look to be?. Ritz Hotels are 2-3 levels above Marriott….but that is my opinion, after all there are simple Marriott's Hotels and there are some LUX Edition too. Im glad You had a great stay, and a little dust…eh lets not be so anal or sterile…have a wonderful day. TH
I hope you stay honest in all your reviews. This one was great. Thanks.
$50 cocktail, they must be mad.
This was such a detailed summary of the hotel- I have asthma and was very glad you mentioned the dust and dirt. I would have to bring my own Lysol wipes to be able to enjoy myself. I really liked the restaurants-the food looked delicious. Thank you for another great review which many will find extremely helpful!
You're definitely a few years too late to see it in its prime, though for a RC it should always be in its prime.
I stayed there in February 2018, room 115-20. The hotel is now something like 15 years on, showing the age, and doesn't look updated since I was there.
The front-desk staff was amazing, they even sent me and my partner a personalized hand written card and box of chocolates — this was unprompted, and likely based on my Marriott status at the time.
The hotel was nice, though we thought the Italian restaurant was better than the Chinese restaurant. Our bill at the Italian restaurant at the time was HK5000, inclusive of a 10% service fee (at the time it was 7HKD:1USD).
We also had the Sunday Dom Perignon buffet which was quite nice with having unlimited champagne, Eggs Benedict station, Lamb, Wagyu Picanha, Lobster, Prawns and more.
The Ozone had some great drinks back then… I had one served in a glass shaped like a large old-fashioned light bulb and garnished with an edible dandelion. Their signature drink at the time was called the Hong Kong Skyline and smoked under glass with lavender and was also $50 back then. I'd probably would be disappointed if I got what you did.
Seems they've started chintzing out on some stuff, but that's the times now I guess.
Not a problem with the hotel, but with the ICC (at the time) was that the hotel and mall was seemingly an island in a construction area, numerous taxi drivers got lost trying to get us back to the hotel, though all were quite fair and I think legitimately lost as they stopped the meter but kept driving until we got back.
1:44 oh HeLL nah

Excellent presentation. Liked, subscribed, and rang that bell.
P.S. Scratching off my list staying at the Ritz-Carlton Hong kong.
Really really, like how honest and Frank you were with your grading and commentary. Often, I find that reviews like these are rather suger-coated, but yours wasn't. That was so refreshing.
Immediately subscribed! 😊❤
Great hotel! ❤

Dude don't step on the pool with your shoes, what's wrong with you..
