Tonight’s dinner was, again, pure Italian magic.
We spent the evening at Masseria Crocco, my dear friends’ family-run winery and olive estate in the heart of Basilicata.
Silvia Crocco and her family have been cultivating this land for four generations, producing award-winning wines and exceptional olive oil.
Every time I visit — and this was my fifth — they welcome my Coco’s Travel group like family.
We walked the vineyards, watched the olive harvest, and stood on the cliffs overlooking the ancient clay mountains and caves.
This is the kind of behind-the-scenes experience you just don’t get anywhere else.
Dinner was a feast: Lasagna Bolognese with handmade pasta, local cheese, A pumpkin flan, of course their olives, Homemade sausages, chicken to die fore all matched perfectly with their wines. We started with their refreshing Brigà Rosé. Next the crisp Ventomare Chardonnay. Then the bold Matinone Primitivo. In every sip you tasted the the story of this land that Sylvia so passionately told us.
