Handmade ceramics aren’t cheap, but porcelain is often even more expensive. Compared to other ceramics, porcelain is non-porous, white, and translucent. The secret to these differences is in the clay. But even for experienced potters, porcelain can be challenging to work with. So how is porcelain made and why is it so expensive?

1300 degrees Celsius is about 2370 degrees Fahrenheit.
This show always delivers with stunning footage. The production value is off the charts!
wow!!!
cuz its made from baby blood
I inherited a Japanese porcelain dinner set from my mom. It’s too pretty to use.
I've worked with porcelain a few times, and the biggest issue was the texture. It's much softer than most clays I'd worked with up to that point (my teacher compared it to cream cheese), so the force requirements were very different. Wouldn't mind sitting at the wheel again, with porcelain or something else.
4:54 The more time it takes the more expensive
THIS IS A HISTORY OF CHINA'S PORCELAIN THAT I'VE NEVER BEEN EXPOSED TO HERE IN MY HOMELAND OF THE USA… HOWEVER, I'M ALWAYS WILLING AND OPEN TO LEARNING GOOD THINGS THAT ARE NEW TO ME‼️ I LIKE THIS VIDEO AND THE PRETTY DAINTY BUT APPARENTLY VERY EXPENSIVE PORCELAIN DISHES OF CHINA‼️ ONE DAY I HOPE TO BE WEALTHY ENOUGH TO ORDER A CUSTOM MADE COLLECTION FOR MY HOME 🏡 THEREFORE IT MUST REPRESENT MY OWN GODLY BELIEFS AND PERSONAL DESIGNS AS I'D BE WILLING TO PAY FOR MY CUSTOMIZED 🍽️ ORDER‼️😃🫶🙋🏽✌️💜💜💜 THANKS AGAIN CHINA‼️🔥🙏👑✝️📖🔥🕊️🇺🇸

what are the difference between ceramic and porcelin? show me in the video
Ceramics are beautiful but fragile, is that why they are so expensive?
Interesting content. But honestly, you are talking about porcelain, something invented by the Chinese. The other name for porcelain is called "China", the Chinese are currently the best porcelain artisans in the world and how many Chinese were interviewed in this documentary? None……….. Do you see the irony?
What is the name of this workshop in Japan please?
It is not come to turkey
Useful, informative, and helpful😊.
for something so culturally significant and ancient to china, i wish you guys filmed this from a chinese artisan. it’s disheartening to see so many things from my culture get rebranded as “japanese” or “korean”. copiers can never replicate the original quality from the creators. great work though!
Just be careful because not all essential oils are good for you especially in large quantities. Most essential oils are neurotoxins and endocrine disruptor. Something that took me a long time to realize is that bot everything that is natural and organic is nontoxic. Think of tobacco, Marijuana, poison mushrooms, poison oak, etc
Crazy how you either poop on it or eat off of it everyday.
This video is not giving a good reason to why it is "So Expensive". Glass is cheaper, takes more skill, and hardeer to make.
What this channel is doing is just promoting certain industries.
Jesus loves you! Repent, turn to Him before it is too late. He died for you. Each of us sins, and there is only one punishment for sin – death. That is why Jesus Christ died in your place, so that you would not suffer forever in the lake of fire. He gave each of us the opportunity to spend eternity with Him, in His Kingdom! Do not miss it! He is always ready to hear you, turn to Him, and He will help you!
Bible. John 3:16.
«For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.»
I'm sitting on porcelain as I watch this video about porcelain.
😮😮😮😮😮
Anything produced by a human, and not a machine deserves my attention. Long life to artisans.
Porcelain King of ceramics! Drawings – there are decals that look better on dishes than drawings, and save production time. The enterprise is clean and neat! Harmony to you!
Tuyệt vời quá
My Great GrandFather introducted various types of toilets to the mainstream industry and he started most of his work in Asia and then centralised in south Johannesburg Africa supplying europe. It was one of his most famous ways of raising capital for goverments including the classical sinks and other ware.
My asshole would be so clenched stacking up all the pottery for the kiln
Only current request…lets make some new shapes. New dish shapes. Cup bowl dish smaller pieces….half the clay used IS double the production abilities. 🔑♟️👸🔓⛲️
Interesting that some toilets are made containing Kaolin which is also used to stop diarrhoea!
Fantastic”””
Makes me wonder how they originally created all this without the bells and whistles of new age machinery 😮
Business Insider has some really good content, it’s just a shame they are discredited leftist propaganda, politically speaking.
Great camerawork
Does anyone know: What is in the glazing mixture? Is it bleach into your food like soup and hot drink?
In japanese..
i KNOW it is years of repetition and built up confidence…
but I could NEVER imagine carrying SO MANY hours of other peoples hard work so calmly! 2:00 😰
SORRY, BUT PORCELAIN IS NOT EXPENSIVE. IT WAS 100 YEARS AGO BUT NOT TODAY!!
Please add hindi dubbing
工业化的产品不价值钱。批量生产!手工手绘画的才有艺术使用价值和收藏价值!
My great grandmother was an award winning porcelain sculpture. I regret not learning from her all the time 😢
China original crafts were really excellent.
Don't let the days go by, porcelain. Or whatever that musician said.
It seems like Japanese artisans do that a lot. Have one person do one step, I mean. I like that. It seems like in America, even if you're only really good at one part of a job, you have to learn how to do THE WHOLE job in order for it to be a career. For example, if I made pottery, I would be pretty good at throwing clay, but I couldn't paint it very well because my hands are very shaky. If I could do the throwing part and then somebody else paint, like they do here, it would be much more efficient.
The businesses showcased in these videos should have links to their websites in the description so we can support them and so they may also profit from this series. Seems fair.
I NEED SOME KIND OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE THESE PEOPLE IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN CONTACT THEM??
