Hello, these are not “Home Movies” but maybe actual home movies? I’m not taking the time to “re-brand” anything right now because I’m a person not a company and frankly, who has the time! But here’s a nice little voyeurism from a recent trip to Italy because if you’re not working a little on vacation, how will you ever truly relax? Vacation cooking is vacation at its finest, especially if for whatever reason, you’re not dining out. While the things cooked here are not featured explicitly in the new book (Something From Nothing, out 11/11, pre-order it here: https://geni.us/nLjt5L), they certainly get at the general sentiment. Turns out, with a pork chop, a few dull knives and a random assortment of produce, you really can make something from nothing. This video is fantastic. MORE like this!
SHE'S FINALLY BACK!!!
Congrats on your family ❤
Love this!!! (Bring a knife sharpener in your bag)
We’ve missed you Alison! Happy to have you back and congratulations on a gorgeous baby! ❤
Omg I miss that style of Olive Garden commercial so much! Those awkward family scenes, the bad acting. Chef's. Kiss *.
I have always thought that there should be a version of chopped but in poorly stocked Airbnb kitchens and where you have to shop at a random corner store in a foreign country. You would definitely win!
Very hard to do anything with little kids… Lol
This new aesthetic is very cool and grown up. I'll always miss the more chaotic home movies but I completely understand the evolution
Wait
Who baby?!
Her baby?!?!
Was this on YouTube? 😭
Anyone? 🥲
Raw onion is the best meat seasoning! Also I recently started packing a little kit of things for when I know we'l be cooking on vacation: knife sharpener, meat thermometer, microplane, corkscrew, wine stopper, small pepper mill. Saves so much frustration
Perfect
loved this video! Loved seeing what it's like for you cooking on vacation/away from home. It's so relatable and makes me feel less frustrated, and less like I'm doing it wrong, when I'm cooking away from home. Thanks!!!
Alison!!!
I was on your page the other week wondering if I missed a video, sigh, I did not. You are food for our soul, we missed you. Thanks for sharing a peek at your baby.
♥🐤👶
Welcome back. We missed you. <3
Welcome back!
Finally
Love it, Charlie is adorable! Watching you cook with limited supplies was very entertaining, especially the hands instead of tongs 😂 love always -T
I adore this video format… I hope this is your new permanent style, I will eat these up all day! xoxo
I love everything about this
fascinating use of the word 'humiliating'
Love the video. We took our first son to Paris when he was 9 months old. It was honestly better than anyone suggested it would be. He was fantastic at all the restaurants and museums. Honestly we got so much attention and free food etc because French people apparently love babies? But we also opted to cook many nights as well. Still do when we travel even with older kids. Just so nice to see you featuring it this way. Everyone should travel with their babies/kids and they should also bravely try to make a gorgeous dinner with dull knives:) it all looked fabulous. Thank you!
Wait but where are the potatoes? 😮
Finally, you're back!
Love this❤
She's baaaaaaaack!!!!!!
Welcome back please never leave again ty
Missed you so much, what part of Sicily were you guys in? I'm Sicilian and was just there over the summer! 😘😘
Great to see you! You look awesome. I’ve taken to carrying a few cooking necessities with me when I travel. A good knife is one of them, also a fry pan and some flatware (plastic sucks!) Some things are so much easier to do with familiar tools. Your food looks great! 🍆 🍅 🥩
Edit: your baby is super adorable. :))
I LOVE this. It is so real and relatable – had to use blunt knife, tried this and didn’t work, etc. Great video #lifelesson
