In this video, I share the results of my research on where foreigners are investing in Italian real estate – and why I decided not to follow the crowd. In 2024, the top three regions attracting foreign buyers were Tuscany, Sicily, and Lombardy. Tuscany remains the classic choice with rolling hills and wine estates but is expensive and very competitive. Sicily has gained attention with its €1 home stories and adventurous buyers, while Lombardy draws wealthy investors to Milan and Lake Como. Other regions like Liguria, Puglia, and Piedmont are also rising in popularity.
Instead of choosing any of those, I went with Le Marche – and for good reason. This region offers authentic Italian life without the heavy tourist crowds, incredible value for money compared to places like Tuscany, and a stunning variety of landscapes, from mountains and vineyards to golden beaches along the Adriatic coast. Life here moves at a slower, friendlier pace, the food and wine are outstanding, and the people make you feel welcome right away. On top of that, it’s still an undervalued market with strong long-term potential, making it one of the smartest regions in Italy for lifestyle and investment.

We’ll continue to upload videos regularly as we share our adventure renovating the farmhouse we bought here in Le Marche. 2. Our hearts are set on Marche, especially around Corinaldo. We haven’t found our dream house yet, but the search continues!

  3. Conero is amazing, been to Loreto. Is also famous for the shoe factory you can get designer shoes directly from the factory at a fraction price.😊

  4. I heard about Marche from an Italian gentleman I met on the remote island of Pantelleria. But, how easy is it to get to a major airport? Is it easy to get from the Ligurian coast to the west side coast? How is the transportation there?

  5. This is a very important video as an Italian insight. Most popular regions for foreign investors are 1) Tuscany 2) Sicily 3) Lombardy Liguria / Puglia / Piedmont. For some reasons I have to watch 3 times to realize the correct Italian pronunciation of "Marche". A great video.

  6. Appreciate your efforts. Good video giving reasons to choose Marche as a property investment destination for long term and what food, historical sites etc are there.
If you are going to give videos showing specific properties, hope you will give details like distance to availability of various daily/ weekly requirements eg stores, butcher or meat supply, vegetable vendors, cafes, restaurants, doctors, dentist, hospitals, petrol pumps, car repair facilities ( spare parts availability), whether earthquake prone area-location etc.
    All the best.
