In this video, I take you to three places where Iโve stayed recently that 90% of tourists never even think to visit: the alpine foothills of Veneto, the quiet Tuscan hills near Semifonte, and the olive-covered countryside of Puglia.

We are staying in Lake Como with friends should be fantastic. Then taking the train to Venice and after a 10 day cruise to Rome.
You're right – see Rome, Venice, and Florence once. Then spend your time exploring the rest of Italy. We've been to Veneto twice for the cycling, once in Bassano del Grappa and once farther east in the Prosecco vineyards. I've even ridden my bike past La Rosina where you filmed this.
Love Puglia. Less hectic. Tell us about Frosinone . My grandfather lived there.
I saw your other video when you stayed in Puglia and I'm so interested. Looks beautiful, serene, and close enough to the beach. I been to Florence and Rome. But next time, I probably just need to go and decompress.
Nice to see Bassano del Grappa being mentioned in your video. Some years ago our son did a semester through the CIMBA-Italy study abroad program in Paderno del Grappa. While academically beneficial, the time abroad also afforded him the opportunity to visit many other areas of the country. We visited him and quickly fell in love with nearby Asolo and the Dolomite region. So, yes, break away from the familiar tourist spots and experience the country through a different lens. You'll be happy you did.
In Rome I only want to see Michaelangel's Moses, Florence Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primivera and eat at that great pizza place near Piazza Del Signora.

Weโve found our little piece of Italy that we love: Liguria. But not Cinque Terre or Genua, or even Sanremo. We just love the smaller cities, like Sestri Levante and Imperia.
From those three places I'd prefer Puglia most probably. But what about Calabria, did you ever go there Gregor or would you in the future?
Tough choice! I'd like to see the big three at least once (will be in Rome in 11 days), but I would also like to visit places "normal" tourists don't go to. Your videos are giving me more ideas of places to go in Italy!
