Mount Etna in Sicily is home to some truly exciting wines, thanks to its unique volcanic soil and old bush vines. Recently, I checked out a couple of options from Cusumano’s Alta Mora winery and wow, they did not disappoint!
The Bianco, made from Carricante grapes, is refreshing with its crisp, citrusy notes and a hint of smokiness. Then there’s the Etna Rosso, which is light in color but bursting with flavor, reminiscent of a blend between Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. It has beautiful red fruit, herbal undertones, and that special volcanic touch.
If you’re on the hunt for a wine that has both soul and a compelling story, look no further than these Etna wines. I highly recommend swinging by Franco’s to grab a bottle of the Alta Mora Rosso and Bianco!
