Tommy Cash is the most famous Estonian alive. He also doesn’t like to call himself “Estonian,” or speak Estonian, or spend much time in Estonia. For the last 10 years, Cash has built a brand by selling a funhouse mirror version of eastern Europe to the rest of the world. Which is why, believe it or not, Espresso Macchiato might be the most introspective and meaningful thing he’s ever made. Grab a coffee, this might take a while.

Overthinking It subjects the popular culture to a level of scrutiny it probably doesn’t deserve.

  1. the YES album is absolutely amazing and only one of those songs has an actual music video, so i don't think it's all about visual marketing.
anyway, thanks for the hard work of making this! I agree on some points and don't wholly agree on some others, but it's Tommy Cash, it's quite impossible to truly understand him and he's also evolved through time, some older things may not apply for today and vice versa.
btw, how would you interpret Nukerashka if not political?

  2. The Eurovision YouTube space has some outstanding creators in it and you are at the very top…really glad you guys are back this year.

  3. Daaaamn, I was stoked to see the new videos in general, but I'm above all blown away by the depth. What a wonderful opening of the new ESC season. 🙂

  4. The word "demolish" in estonian slang word means "to give everything you can". In this case it is meant that he want to succeed in eurovision and is trying to give his best with his performance. In estonian the word "lammutama" in slang has other meaning than actually demolish something. So you got lost in translation.

But otherwise good work with the video!

  5. the original Käärijä music video for the 2023 entry had the dualism of showing Käärijä in a blond wig for the song's bridge section that was now re-worked by TC

  6. Bought the clear bag from kisluxs to go to a concert. It was GREAT! Breezed through security and wore it as a crossbody so I could dance and groove!!

  7. I use my kisluxs as a work bag and have had no issues at all. Itâ s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadnâ t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and donâ t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interio.

  8. Oh it's so GOOD to have you back – I did a double take thinking this was an old video at first!

And man. The script just tickles my brain in all the right ways with the puns and well crafted flow. So satisfying. Bring on your stupid-long video 🙂‍↕️

  9. btw in the untranslated original it was definitely 'i want to demolish at eurovision'

  10. As always, scientific-level information. That said, something doesn’t sit well with Cash’s statement about his rap style more visual than storytelling. At least, for me and my exposure to ‘80s and ‘90s rap.
