Since moving to Italy, I’ve felt it in every cell of my body—my bloating disappeared, my digestion reset, and my body just knows it’s where it belongs. Even though I tried so hard to eat clean in L.A., there’s something about Italian bread, pizza, and pasta that my body welcomes rather than rejects. The difference isn’t just in my mind—it’s in the ancient grains, the traditional preparation methods, and the slower rhythm of life here. In this video, I’m sharing why Italian carbs don’t cause the same inflammation as American ones, how their farming practices differ, and the lifestyle habits that naturally support our bodies the way nature intended.

  1. just because someone isnt fat or obese, doesnt mean they are healthy. High carb diet leeds to quicker aging and insuline resistence in older age…..high carbs, is just bad in anyway you want to twist it. >D Now, all haters will coment this >D

  2. It's funny because Italians in Canada/US are hugeeeeeee lol. I think it's all about how much Europeans walk/exercise. Some of their cities (like Florence) can't even get cars into the city centre.

  3. Great video! I would, however, add that many Italians are quite aware of their weight, and tend to eat in moderation and not snack too much on unhealthy foods in between meals, to stay fit and feel good. About the carbs, I also noticed tha long fermentation of the dough which makes it very easy to digest (that is also why it is possible to eat the whole italian pizza and still feel good).

  4. It comes down to how the food is processed. Food in america is most likely the worst quality in the world, GMO to the core and hoooribly processed. Wheat was consumed regularly in biblical days!

  5. The first time I went to Italy, I had some pasta for lunch and then some pizza. I got so bloated to the extent I had no appetite for the rest of the trip. Too much carbs for my taste.

  6. I’m italian, and I want to say that italians get fat. Obesity is an increasing problem among european countries, and Italy is not an exception, especially if we talk about child obesity. The “mediterranean diet” is a bit of a mith nowadays, because we also tend to overconsume and over indulge in processed foods like many other occidental countries.
Globalisation and consumism have affected people lifestyle and I think that we all have to reduce consumption of unhealthy foods and rediscover our traditions

  7. I lived over there and everyone walks their cars are tiny. They have one or two children at the most they eat very small meals. Their pizzas are like crackers with a little bit of cheese. It’s completely different over there and also there’s a lot of family support people over eat over here because they’re empty and they don’t have family support

Also, they shop almost every day instead of once a month
Most Americans buy processed preservative laden food
, a lot of junk food, and sugar, and they over eat

  8. not my italian father in law being obese lol
we call him 'fat bastard' hahhahahah
    he thinks it's funny.

its true on average most people are pretty slim in italy, and if overweight then 90% of them is perhaps 20lbs overweight, which is still manageable. I visit italy every few months and this is what I observed in the past 2 years.

My italian bf and MIL eat like this:
morning: cappuccino + 2 biscuits OR 1 croissant.
Afternoon: plate of pasta (a tomato or pesto sauce)/ cheese or mushroom risotto/ 1 pizza
    Dinner: veggies with meat/fish
(often spinach with garlic/ tomatoes with lettuce and onion/leeks/ eggplant/zucchini)
    (often chicken or rabbit)
