Simon , can you give us your definition of hard work please ? By hard work do you mean drinking beers for breakfast , running around supermarkets and stuffing your face with terrible food ? If so I ve news for you mate , that's not most peoples idea of graft , that's a wasters life . And to use your own words " I mean that with the greatest of respects " . You don’t really come to Italy expecting great beers. Italian beer (Peroni) is pretty bad IMO. I did however manage to find a good Irish pub close to my hotel near Ponte Guglie that had a drinkable IPA…

THERE IS ""THE STRAWBERRY THIEF", AND "BEER EMPORIUM" IN BRISTOL WHO DO BELGIAN BEERS, WITH "THE
LLANDOGER TROW" DOING 10 GERMAN/CZECH LAGERS, 15 GUEST KEG CRAFT BEERS, 5 SUPER FRESH CASK,
AND CIDERS, TOO.
THERE WAS "THE HIDEAWAY" IN TAUNTON HAVING A BELGIAN BEER ON TAP, BUT WAS £8.25P A PINT!
WHEN I WAS IN PLYMOUTH, I FOUND AN AMAZING BEER SHOP CALLED "VESSELS" WHICH HAS AN AWESOME
AMOUNT OF DIFFERENT BEERS, INCLUDING RARE GERMAN BEERS!
I ALSO LIKE A UK 10% TRIPLE IPA BEER!
IN ITALIAN BEERS I HAVE HAD LOADS, INCLUDING PROPER BIRRA MORRETTI (I HAVE JUST CONTACTED THEM
ABOUT GETTING THE AUTHENTIC STUFF!).
SARDINIAN ICHNUSA IN THE BIG BOTTLES IS LOVELY, AS IS MESSINA, WITH MY ITALIAN RESTAURANT HAVING
AT £7.50P A BOTTLE!

Best craft pub in Venice by far is, Il Santo Bevitore craft pub. Check them out on google maps for your next trip. Can't remember exactly but probably had over twenty taps of craft beers.

nobody else thinks this is a bit of an uncomfortable watch? Getting angry with family when they're not as obsessed with finding and drinking alcohol as you are. 'Needing' a beer by 4pm. Getting sulky about people holding you up on the way to get a beer. Splitting up with family just so you can go and have a beer on your own. Finally gets an average pint of Lager and all is well with the world again. People think this is normal. People think this is a guy just casually fancying a beer on holiday. It isn't. Your video about your health update proves that, but then again you put it all down to the ageing process, not alcohol. I love a beer but if I ever started doing any of these things I'd be very worried to be honest.
You go to Venice and not one Super villain / Special Agent gondola chase.. its always the way.. have a beer instead.

The Tennents Super still fascinates me, seems like it's all over Italy. Yet only 2 places in England have tennents on draft. A disgrace to big Hugh. X

Venice is a beautiful city..I've visited several times. I'd recommend staying around Lake Garda and visiting for the day, plus avoiding in summer.
