Who’s the ultimate blind wine taster in NYC? Find out in this week’s Bottle Battle, where Mariano Garay, Wine Director at Corima, faces off against Mike Fadem, sommelier and co-owner of Ops and Leo.
Here’s the challenge: Both sommeliers bring their A-game in a three-round blind tasting competition. In Rounds 1 and 2, they select a white wine and red wine to test their opponent’s knowledge. In Round 3, they tackle a mystery wild card wine. Points are earned for identifying the grape, country, region, and vintage — and bragging rights are on the line.
Will Corima’s rising wine star take the win, or will Ops’ wine pro claim victory? Watch this exciting wine showdown to see who comes out on top.

Sounds like the first wine Mariano brought for Mike might have been corked
Would love to try that Chilean Chardonnay, sounds interesting!
Wet cardboard? Isn’t that TCA/corked?
I think there should be a miniseries of this series with non-somms and let them compete to see who can figure out the most
