Hello friends,
it was ten days to Christmas 2024 when we visited Dozza, a picturesque village in Emilia-Romagna region in Italy.

Dozza is a picturesque medieval village, the province of Bologna, located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Bologna. Renowned for its vibrant street art, Dozza transforms into an open-air gallery through its Biennale del Muro Dipinto (Biennial of the Painted Wall), a tradition that began in 1960. Every two years in September, artists from around the world are invited to adorn the village’s walls with murals, creating a diverse tapestry of styles and themes that enhance the historic architecture.

The village’s narrow, cobbled streets are lined with these colorful artworks, offering visitors a unique blend of contemporary art set against a backdrop of medieval charm. Beyond its murals, Dozza is home to the imposing Rocca Sforzesca, a 500-year-old castle that now serves as a museum and houses the Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna. This regional wine cooperative, located in the castle’s cellars, showcases over 800 wines and other local products, making it a must-visit for wine enthusiasts.

Recognized as one of “The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” (I Borghi più belli d’Italia), Dozza offers a rich cultural experience that seamlessly blends history, art, and gastronomy. You can enjoy the murals year-round, as they are permanent installations, and the village’s charm is complemented by quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants that reflect the region’s culinary heritage.

Enjoy. The long video from Italy we will post sometimes after Christmas.

Thank you for being here, dear friends.
