Clams and pasta are a marriage made in Italian heaven. Here is a different version from the traditional garlic and oil. It is especially good for people who have a hard time digesting garlic, because the garlic is sliced and can be removed after cooking. Do not forfeit the flavor of garlic in your cooking, however; crush the cloves, remembering how many you put in, and then fish them out. Dry or fresh fettuccine would both be delicious for this recipe; just keep in mind the different cooking times of the two pastas. Every Xmas eve my Grandma made linguini with clam sauce. No veggies, but she cleaned and diced up the clams. May seem silly but the end was amazing because literally, Literally every single bite you took of the pasta had some clam in it. Every single time you twirled the linguini on the fork there was clams in it. Plus after the pasta was done there'd still be some bits of clam in the leftover sauce to scoop up with some bread. Was Sssooo delicious.

Oh my. So good.
You had me at leeks Lidia! They are like a cross between an onion and a garlic. The former I won't eat. The latter I'll eat so much the room will spin ( look it up, it's a thing, same with lobster). Every ingredient in this recipe I like. Unfortunately I'll probably leave out the clams. One bite of even the smallest grit of sand and I'm done. It's too bad because I really like clams. Btw, you sure used a lot of leeks in this recipe (not there's anything wrong with that). I'll just have to try that too. Bon appetit!
