  1. Pleased I have a few Annata Fontodi stashed away: four 2019s and six 2021s. Are the 2019s drinking well atm do you know? My half case of 2021s is safely out of reach in the merchant's cellars.
We cannot get away for a break just now due for domestic reasons but when those circumstances change we will be off to Italy. A trip to Chianti could well be included in the itinerary.

  2. This is a fantastic overview of Fontodi Winery! I really appreciate how you delved into their meticulous grape-growing practices and winemaking philosophy, which truly sets them apart in the Chianti Classico region. Your insights into the drinking windows and price points are super helpful, especially for those looking to enjoy their Chianti Classico or invest in the iconic Flaccianello. Plus, the tips on what to expect when visiting the winery are invaluable. Great content, John! I can’t wait to visit Fontodi on my next trip to Tuscany!

  3. Nice to see you in a classic locale….have drank Flaccianello for years….stunning to mildly dissapointing…but when it's good,it's great.
    Bravo

  4. Love Flaccianello, but it has gone up in price too much after Covid. I guess that’s the same thing that’s happened for most wines

  5. I have a case of the Flaccianello 2010 and are not opening any of them soon. Maybe in 5 years or so I will pop my first bottle. Tonight I will be opening a Chateau Hosanna 08 as it is my anniversary!
